Thomas Tuchel has delivered an update on the fitness of the Chelsea squad ahead of their trip to Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
Hakim Ziyech, Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva all missed the FA Cup fifth-round win over Luton Town in midweek but were pictured in training at Cobham on Thursday.
Second-half goals from Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku helped the Blues come from behind twice to beat the Hatters 3-2 and book their place in the quarter-finals.
Tuchel has now confirmed the absent trio should be available for selection again. But there was more concerning news regarding Cesar Azpilicueta.
“No fresh injuries but I have to talk to the fitness coaches and doctors. Azpi wasn’t training yesterday so this will be too close,” he told his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.
“Hakim was in training, hopefully he can come back. Reece [James] did training yesterday and no reactions after his two matches.
“The guys who were not with us at Luton because of minor injuries, Thiago and Trevoh, were back in training and seem good to go.”
The Blues were drawn against Middlesbrough in the last eight of the competition but focus will now revert back to the Premier League and the trip to Turf Moor.
Tuchel will be eager to keep morale around the club up after the news of Roman Abramovich’s decision to sell the club broke earlier this week.
During his press conference, he also offered some more detail on what has happened at the club since the news emerged, including talks with Petr Cech.
“We had a briefing here the day after the match from Petr, who gave everyone here in the building, including the players, a quick brief and explained the situation,” Tuchel explained.
“It wasn’t too much that we didn’t already know so we have to live with this situation.
“It doesn’t make sense to worry too much because we don’t have a lot of influence, if any influence at all.”
