Ex-Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi has replaced multi-award-winning TV and radio personality Bonang Matheba as the ceremony’s host.
Bonang Matheba was supposed to co-host earlier this month, but she is no longer doing so.
Africa Magic, in collaboration with MultiChoice (AMVCA), has officially revealed the hosts of this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
The 9th edition of the renowned awards will be hosted by Nigerian superstar and beauty queen Ik Osakioduwa, with Toke Makinwa, Sika Osei, VJ Adams, and Uti Nwachukwu manning the red carpet.
The main event will take place on Saturday night.

On Thursday, there is an Opening/Cultural Night, followed by May the MTF Day, Digital Content Creators Day, and the Nominee Gala/Runway Show on Friday.
The awards will be live-streamed on all Africa Magic channels on DStv beginning Saturday at 5 p.m. CAT.
There is exceptional talent in the African film and television industries, which is recognized and honored through the awards.
They will take place over three days in Lagos, Nigeria, beginning on Thursday, May 18, and ending on Saturday, May 20. Zozibini Tunzi described hosting the continent’s highest cinema awards as an honor.
She also expressed her joy at seeing Ik Osakioduwa again on Instagram.

The eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), held in Nigeria, included South African Bonang Matheba as one of the hosts.
Zozibini Tunzi, a former Miss South Africa and Miss Universe, has taken her place.
Bonang Matheba was poised to host the AMVCAs for the first time.
She previously hosted the Mzansi Viewer’s Choice Awards, South Africa’s counterpart of the AMVCAs, in 2017 and 2018.
The AMVCAs were launched in 2013 and have since grown to become one of Africa’s greatest events for recognizing and honoring the best in cinema and television.
Minnie Dlamini and IK presented the awards from 2016 to 2018.
