Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode, and Wouter Kellerman have won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance.
The South African artists won for their song Bayethe at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.
They defeated Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, the United States’ Matt B, Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni, and Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab.
Zakes dedicates the award to his late father and mother.
“Took me 17 years to find my path, I have no words to express the emotions and grace that have come over me. This moment is owed to my late Mother & Father. I’m grateful,” he wrote.
Look at God!!! From Hammarsdale to the world! 🌍
I never imagined that God would take me to such heights and platforms!
