Vlogger Who Shot Content At DJ Sumbody’s Funeral Responds To Trolls

A woman vlogged DJ Sumbody’s funeral, causing controversy. On Sunday morning, November 19, Pretoria-born businessman Oupa John Sefoka was shot and killed on his way to a gig.

He was buried at the Ga-Masemola, Apel Four Ways Cross on September 26 after his November 23 memorial service. His funeral was criticized. From attendees to his best friend Cassper Nyovest singing their hit Monate Mpolaye to a woman using his service as YouTube content.

Bontle Maela, a young woman, vlogged his funeral, angering social media users. She traditionally welcomed her viewers to her channel. She then mentioned that she had arrived at the funeral and when she would eat.

“Hello everyone, we have arrived at the funeral and now we’re going to dish up,” a chirpy Bontle, who was chewing the life out of her bubblegum, said as she threw a peace sign in the mix.

Bontle took it up a notch by dissing the women who were not attending saying they did not qualify to be stock, another term for baddies.

Hitting back at the outraged Tweeps, Bontle said it is not that deep and that the people who are outraged should seek counseling. “All that I can say is you guys need counselling, a serious one. Li stressed and in that video, there is nothing wrong actually because I was updating my followers that I have arrived. What made you angry? The fact that I said I’m going to dish up? Don’t you dish up at funerals?

“I went to the funeral to pay my last respects because I left him. I did not go there for the content, I cried yes because a funeral is sensitive and I was hurt. Just because I was hurt doesn’t mean I can’t take a video,” Bontle said.

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema spoke at his funeral and said Pretoria is a mafia state which has zero respect for black lives. He called for the swift arrest of the murderers.

A friend of Oupa’s said he was not a criminal. “I dismissed it as paranoia. I wish I hadn’t because maybe he was going to pay a bit of attention to his security detail. The thing is with me is I always thought why would somebody want to harm somebody so harmless. I mean the guy wouldn’t even hurt a fly. But the way they brutally took him out, the way they brutally shot him, it’s as if he was some kind of gangster. That’s why there’s conspiracy theories that are suggesting he was a gangster or drug dealer. I’m so sorry guys, the guy was none of that. He was just so good at what he does, so good that I don’t know. Maybe that created enemies for him.”
