Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi is a sucker for controversy. The former music executive has already trodden on numerous toes, so much so that he has been served with law cases. None of this, however, has stopped him from voicing his views.
Nota chose to make South African-born comedian Trevor Noah his target in one of his most recent tweets.
The polarizing podcast contributor, who just returned to Twitter after a lengthy suspension, referred to the former Daily Show host as the “devil.”
“Trevor Noah is the devil,” he wrote.
When asked to elaborate, Nota told one of his followers to “search for the videos on YouTube”.

Besides taking a dig at Trevor Noah, Nota is also still trash-talking his ex-wife Berita. The singer, whose real name is Gugulethu Khumalo, revealed last year that she is no longer married to the music exec, alleging that their marriage was abusive. However, her ex-husband continues to humiliate her on social media by calling her names and exposing details about their private lives.
Following the Ndicel’kiss hitmaker’s interview with MacG and Sol Phenduka on their YouTube podcast show, Podcast Chill, on Friday, Nota took to social media to insult both his ex-wife and the hosts.
In March 2022, former rapper turned entrepreneur Siyabonga “Slikour” Metane slammed Nota’s claims on Twitter about their “working” relationship in 2009. Slikour slapped the influencer with a R250 000 defamation lawsuit after he said on his Twitter timeline that the ex-rapper fell into depression and was unable to fulfil his business duties when his then girlfriend Bonang Matheba cheated on him with radio presenter Themba Nkosi, known as DJ Euphonik. He also claimed that Slikour exploited him when he managed his company’s social media accounts in those years. According to Sunday World, Slikour also obtained a protection order against Nota Baloyi this year after he threatened to kill him and his son and burn down his taxis.
Nota is also still slut-shaming content creator Mihlali Ndamase. Last week, when she celebrated buying a car, Nota attacked the 27-year-old and her mother. Last year, he called Mihlali a dog that can be killed by its owner at anytime, saying she “prostitutes” herself.
Another celebrity he has had beef with is DJ Shimza who took him to court for defamation of character. In August last year, the court ruled in Shimza’s favour after he sued Nota for alleging in a series of tweets that he was “corrupt” and “benefiting from political connections” due to the DJ’s romantic relationship with Athi Geleba, who works as head of digital communications in the presidency. As a result, City Press reported that the court ordered Nota to pay R200 000 in legal fees.
Last month, Sunday World reported that the media personality was found guilty by the Johannesburg High Court after continuing to violate the court order obtained by rapper Ntokozo “K.O” Mdluli. Nota accused the SETE hitmaker of having a hand in the murder of fellow rapper AKA who was murdered in Durban in February. The fatal incident also saw celebrity chef and author Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane being gunned down.
In February, the artist manager was forced to apologise to AmaZulu Football Club owner Sandile Zungu who threatened to sue him for defamation of character. This is after Nota alleged that Zungu was also involved in the killing of AKA and Tibz.
