Trevor Noah, a South African-born comedian living in the United States, is trending on Twitter after an American social media user accused him of being hired to spread propaganda about former American President Donald Trump. A South African Twitter user retweeted the tweet, claiming that the former Daily Show host did the same thing to former South African President Jacob Zuma.
Hundreds of comments were left on the post by social media users who appeared to agree with the controversial statements.
Trevor Noah is one of the biggest and most successful comedians in the world.
The Soweto-born funny guy has a long list of accolades and awards and rubs shoulders with some of the most influential people in the entertainment industry.
This may be why tweeps have accused him of using his influence to get both Donald Trump and Jacob Zuma out of their respective presidential offices.
Taking to Twitter this week, one Tweep accused him of getting hired to spread propaganda about Trump.
“Trevor Noah was Hired to defame Donald Trump in front of the World. He dedicated 5 Years of his life to Push Propaganda to the World. I believe he should be met with an equal force that he put out. Trump made peace with Russia, India, and North Korea,” wrote the Tweep.
Agreeing with the post, a South African Tweep commented on how he did the same thing to Zuma.
“Trevor Noah was hired to take down President Zuma, and he got rewarded with that daily show gig.”

Many seemed to agree with the post and wondered why Noah never made jokes about SA’s current president, Cyril Ramaphosa.
“The only reason why I believe this is because he has NEVER ONCE COME FOR RAMAPHOSA,” wrote one person.
