Nandipha Magudumana, or Dr Nandi as she is more often known, had it all before becoming captured in Thabo Bester’s web: beauty, intelligence, and a flourishing company.
However, the public was unaware that the famous aesthetics doctor was secretly dating a convicted rapist, murderer, and fraudster.
Several accounts claim that Dr. Nandi assisted Bester in faking his death and escaping from prison in 2022. However, their supposed affair dates back to 2006, when they first met.
The duo is supposedly on the run after committing a number of crimes.
According to forensic psychologist Gerard Labuschagne, Thabo Bester’s charming yet calculative personality likely attracted Dr Nandi.
Labuschagne interviewed Thabo Bester in 2011, where the latter casually confessed to rape and murder.
Speaking to eNCA this week, the mental health professional said: “It’s not the first time we’ve seen this. It’s a certain type of psychology of people who get involved with people who are awaiting trial or are in prison or convicted offenders.
“He’s a conman, so he’s going to be fostering relationships with people that have a benefit for him. He’s a mastermind manipulator. You can’t rule out how much influence he had over her.
Meanwhile, Labuschagne also weighed into Dr Nandi’s Health Practitioners Council of South Africa (HPCSA) suspension.
According to News24, the regulatory body will likely take action against Dr Nandi after they revealed she was not a registered doctor.
The body claims the doctor failed to pay her annual fees in 2021. This saw her deregistered – and run her practise illegally. Dr Nandi is the owner of Optimum Medical Aesthetics Solutions based in Sandton.
The psychologist said of the bombshell announcement: “I’ve heard of other offenders who’ve been disciplined by the council for pretending to be psychologists. And they also claimed that they were suspended because they didnt pay their fees. So definitely would be curious to know why a practitioner was genuinely suspended from the council….”
“Why would a practitioner not do that? [pay her fees]”.
