The album’s Spotify stats are remarkable. Seven songs charted on the Top 50 South Africa list within 48 hours, including three in the top twenty: “Umbayimbayi” at #3, “Khaya Lami” at #12, and “Intro (Inkabi Zezwe)” at #16. “Khaya Lami” topped Spotify playlists such African Heat, New Music Friday SA, Hot Hits South Africa, Bhinca Nation, and Made in South Africa. Ukhamba by Inkabi Zezwe is a hit on streaming services. On Audiomack, “Umbayimbayi” (#5) and “Khaya Lami” (#9) are on Verified Afrosounds, “Siyabonga” (#3) and “Iskhwele” (#7) are on Afropop Hits, and “Uthando Lunye” (#1) and “Impumelelo” (#10) are on New Releases. Given the good and general reception of the lead track “Umbayimbayi,” this album’s four-day triumph is unsurprising. The music video, which aired on April 28, has over two million YouTube views and the song is double platinum in South Africa. Inkabi Zezwe’s tour is coming soon.
