After giving Amapiano DJ Kabza De Small a shout-out and mispronouncing his name in an Instagram video on Wednesday, 31 May, American rapper Rick Ross—real name William Leonard Roberts II—had online viewers in stitches.
News24 stated that Rick Ross was scheduled to perform at Durban and East London Block Parties on December 21 and 22. Unexpected events canceled the shows.
In a recent Instagram video, the American rapper told The King of Amapiano, Kabza De Small—real name Kabelo Motha Mahlangu—that he was looking forward to partying and working with him on his next trip to South Africa.
“We showing love and we going around the world. We going where? Let’s take it to SA-South Africa. Who we gonna rap in South Africa? One of the biggest bosses in the world in South Africa, that’s right Kabza De Small, that’s right.”
“That’s how we gon do it. When you do it big, you do it with official Belaire; you do it with Bamboo. When I come back to SA, Kabza De Small, we gon party together, we gon link together, we gon rap to together because we gon hustle together, we gon win together, Boss!” the rapper added.
Rick Ross became the brand ambassador of Luc Belaire in 2013, GQ reported. The pink-hued sparkling wine’s brand has reportedly skyrocketed in the rap game since. After hearing how Rick Ross pronounced Kabza De Small’s name in the video, online users were convinced he said Cassper De Small. They believed the rapper had South African rapper Cassper Nyovest in mind.
