After more than a year, Boity Thulo drops accusations against Bujy Bikwa. The businesswoman filed a lawsuit against the presenter in 2021 after he assaulted her to the point of bleeding at a bar. Bikwa was canceled after videos and photographs from the horrifying went viral on social media.
Boity thulo and Bujy resolved after a mediation process at the Midrand magistrate’s court. Speaking to TshishaLIVE, Bikwa says he’s now at peace and they’ve both moved on. We hugged, we spoke, and we are okay. We both agreed we are going to move on and be civil towards one another. I’m at peace, we are both at peace. I think it’s a lesson learned from me I think from both of us.”
“With this experience I went through it and learned so much from it. Now I am now able to be a better advocate to no violence.” Bujy has learnt his lessons, as the incident broke him to the point of suffering depression and other problems.
“This thing broke me. Going through depression and suffering from social anxiety was the hardest thing I’ve had to go through. It’s been a year. I had to do my own healing. The silence for me was very important for my sanity. I don’t have anything to hide.
“I had to forgive myself and what had happened because at some point you if don’t forgive yourself, thinking you should have walked away… There are so many emotions. If you sit in this hole you’re going to die in it. I never thought I’d be in such a situation. I don’t want to pretend that I’m fine when deep down inside my soul is crashing, and being in that space can be very overwhelming. Socially, if it’s not work-related I struggle but slowly and surely I am trying to adjust.
What happened between them?
TV and radio star, Bujy Bikwa allegedly assaulted Thulo at a hotel in Midrand, north of Joburg, which resulted in him spending the weekend behind bars at Johannesburg prison.
He was released this week on R2 000 bail and was warned by the Magistrate not to interfere with witnesses.
Earlier this week, Sunday World, reported that a police officer, who did not want to be named because he is not allowed to speak to the media, said Bikwa, upon realizing he would spend the night with other male detainees, refused to go to the holding cells, saying he was uncomfortable.
“Because they could not let him share a holding cell with female detainees, they allocated him a single cell, where he spent the night alone before appearing in court on Friday,” said the officer.
The incident
In the recording obtained by Sunday World, Bujy, can be heard saying, “People will know who I am when I f**k Boity up”.
He was responding to Boity, who in the recording can be heard saying nobody knows who he is and, “Everyone was surprised why you are here.”
Girls who were present during the incident can also be heard in the recording, trying to stop the fight, as he wanted to ‘moer’ Boity a lot more.
Thulo, who sustained several lacerations to her face, was rushed to a nearby hospital and is now recuperating at her Midstream home in Midrand.
Speaking to the Sunday World, Thulo said she was still in shock and traumatized by the ordeal.
According to Thulo the topic was about ancestors and traditional healers.
An image of Boity has also surfaced, which was taken directly after the assault.
This is not the first time the former YFM presenter has found himself on the wrong side of the law.
In 2017, he was arrested after allegedly stabbing two men in Orange Farm, south of Joburg, during a brawl involving his brother, Mpumelelo.
