Podcaster Blvck Steph Explains Why He Thinks AKA’s Lemons (Lemonade) Platinum Plaques Are Not Genuine. AKA’s lead single Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C made headlines. Not only has he been enjoying the success of his single, but the rapper also managed to sell over 1.2 million bottles of Cruz Vodka Watermelon and Banana Deluxe.
The Supa Mega took the party to an event where he received his platinum plaques for Lemons (Lemonade). During the ESAM Podcast episode, Blvck Steph who is one of the hosts of the show alongside the controversial Rea Gopane raised questions on the authenticity of AKA’s Lemons (Lemonade) plaques.
The podcaster argued that AKA‘s plaques do not have the RISA emblem that proves their authenticity. “So when I was checking that out I see that he is platinum whatever, but the tricky part comes when you look at the pictures properly and you see on the plaques there is no sign of RISA on it,” he said.
“So if there is no RISA on the plaque then that means it’s all cap, Lemons (Lemonade) didn’t go platinum. So if RISA didn’t approve it then it’s a rushed job from the label,” he added. Blvck Steph also speculated that the whole point of having Lemons (Lemonade) certified platinum was a strategy in place for the song to compete with K.O’s SETE on the charts.
“So what I also heard is that they rushed the job because they wanted to compete with Sete because at that point Sete you see a couple of days after Sete was announced double platinum that’s when Lemons (Lemonade) also announced,” he said.
AKA is currently building up to the release of his album Mass Country which is coming out next year, but the rapper is not stopping dishing out singles from the project. Recently the Sup Mega dropped PARADISE featuring Musa Keys and Gyakie and the rapper will be looking forward to its success on the music charts.
