According to the SIU, five non-profit organizations received approximately R56 million in funding for community development projects.
South African Art and Development Association, one of the organizations, is associated with Kwaito legend Arthur Mafokate and has applied for grant funding to assist unemployed youth in the poor and rural areas.
Mafokate’s luxury property in Midrand is among the properties, as is a Cape Town property owned by former National Lotteries Commission legal representative Lesley Ramulifho.
Terry Pheto’s properties were also seized in 2021 as a result of the corruption scandal.
