Mpumi “Mrs. Mops” Mophatlane, a housewife turned socialite and content creator, was one of the breakout stars of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg’s second season.
Mrs. Mops, on the other hand, appears to have been one step ahead in her decision to leave RHOJ, as she is now poised to front Showmax’s new original reality show The Mummy Club. Mrs. Mops’s comeback to reality television has sparked excitement.
Showmax launched the advertising trail for its upcoming original reality series The Mummy Club on Monday, May 29, 2023. It shared the series’ idea as follows:
“… A reality show that sees five glamorous Jozi influencers navigating the challenges of parenting – and the cutthroat world of “it moms.” The first episode kicks off with an R250 000 first birthday party, where some of the cast meet each other for the first time.”
The cast will include newcomers to the reality format such as “Her Majesty, author and motivational speaker, who each have three kids, as well as new mom Nunurai, an event planner and florist to the stars, and beauty and health entrepreneur, and beauty pageant owner Ratile Mabitsela, who has five children.”
Showmax has released the official trailer for the series, which will premiere on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Given that the premise is focussed on the “mummies” and the relationships they have with their nannies. Mrs. Mops shared the relationship she has with her nanny Manche Thema by explaining:
“My nanny is everything to me and my kids. She is very loyal, loves children, and takes care of them like her own. She is a great person and a second mother to my children.”
Manche in turn shared: “My job is to look after the kids and it has been amazing. They are very polite and they listen to instructions. Even though they are privileged, they have humanity. Looking after them and seeing them grow brings me so much joy.”
The reality show is produced by POP24’s Zizi Velelo Alakhe, who shared the intention of the reality show as:
“The Mommy Club will “shows women that being a mom does not have to stop your life. You can still be glamorous, loving, young, ambitious and all things fabulous. Kids are an addition to your life; there is you before kids and there will be you after kids, so it is very important not to neglect yourself and your dreams.”
In light of Mrs. Mops’ inclusion, social media was elated to see her return to our screens in the near future.
