Mpho Popps Stirs Things Up At The Wakanda Forever SA Event

All roads will lead to Ster Kineokor at The Zone in Rosebank, Johannesburg, on November 9, 2022. This happened as members of the media, VIPs, and all of our favorite ZAlebs got together to watch the first African premiere of Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and celebrate.

But no one could have predicted how popular the blockbuster would be. Thousands of people went to Ster Kinekor to get the first look at the sequel, which takes place six years after Wakanda has lost its king and must deal with his death. We don’t want to give anything away about the movie, so here are some ideas for what to wear to the South African premiere of Wakanda Forever on November 11, 2022.

Afrofuturism was the theme of the premiere party, and our ZAlebs had a lot of fun coming up with their own looks for it. It was one of the first times that the outfits did not disappoint in general. So, this list will be about the best-dressed people instead of the ones who should be forgotten.

  1. Connie Chiume

When you are the only South African actor or actress who is coming back to play one of the elders on Black Panther. It would make sense to dress better than everyone else. From a woman who had to beg for money to fly to the US to play her role again, Mme Connie Chiume brought Afrofuturism to life in the Imprint ZA original, which was mostly finished by its designer, Mzukisi Mbane.

The men during the Wakanda Forever premiere proved that they could step up their fashion game. Whether it was the Mpho Popps with his statement feather moment which is a custom design by the legendary Ephymol.

Or Robot Boii, who rocked a statement texture all-black tuxedo by Nao Serati which reads luxury from whatever angle. There were plenty of male fashion statements.

But Black Panther 2 Soundtrack with ZAlebs, Sino Msolo may have been the one that made us gasp the most. The soulful Amapiano singer decided to get in touch with his inner Riky Rick by wearing MaXhosa from head to toe to the premiere. When Riky wore it, it caused a stir, but Msolo has just confirmed that it is now a fashion trend.

K Naomi is currently in her “redefining her brand” era following her recent nuptials and becoming a first time mom, and if this is just the beginning, then fans cannot wait to see how this continues to unfold as many touted the personality as one of the best-dressed, while also maintaining the integrity of the theme. She was in a Malondie original moment which had many giving her a thumbs up.

But even though there are a lot of impressive women who could be on the best-dressed list, our last pick was the one that surprised us the most. Anele Mdoda is in her “pretty girl” phase right now. She has changed her hair and learned to accept her body, but she is still working on it. But her second simple dress, which was inspired by isiXhosa and showed a little leg every now and then, proved that she was one of the best-dressed women around.
