A State witness has taken the Pretoria High Court into Kelly Khumalo’s final intimate moments with her lover, football star Senzo Meyiwa.
Kelly’s sister, Zandile Khumalo, has been testifying in the trial of five men accused of murdering the Bafana Bafana captain.
Meyiwa was shot at the Khumalo residence in October 2014 during what is considered to be a botched robbery.
Zandi Khumalo described the moment her mother conveyed the news of Meyiwa’s death to them, along with a doctor, at Botshelong Hospital, while crying and pausing to dry her eyes.
Kelly, her sister, she added, wanted to view Meyiwa’s body.
“She then kissed him on the forehead. She took out the earrings that he had.”
Kelly then took another minute with Meyiwa, according to Zandile, before leaving the room.
After spending her first full day on the witness stand on Friday, Zandile Khumalo will have to wait nearly a month to complete her testimony, as the case has been rescheduled for June 12th.
