Asavela Mqokiyana has joined the cast of the e.tv drama series “Durban Gen.” The actress is the most recent addition to the drama series, which is nearing the end of its season finale. Mqokiyana is most recognized for her role in ‘Isibaya’ as Ntwelenhle.
Taking to Instagram, the seasoned actress confirmed her latest assignment with a series of photos. Mzansi has been trying to connect the dots on her character ahead of her debut on March 31.
Her gangster personas have surely wowed Mzansi, soon becoming her on-screen signature. Will she go after another gangster this time?

No doubt Mzansi can’t wait for drama capped with thrills. The bubbly actress last graced small screens when she starred as Amogelang in Mzansi Magic faith-based drama series Abomama which premiered in 2021.
It has since been confirmed that the medical drama series will not be renewed. According to TVSA, the ‘Durban Gen’ will be replaced by Parental Advisory’s latest telenovela ‘Nikiwe’ from 24 April.

In 2022 e.tv confirmed the news of the cancellation of ‘Durban Gen’ in a statement.
“e.tv continues to look forward to fulfilling its mandate of producing exceptional and relevant local content, and the production has successfully achieved its part of the obligation throughout the past 2 years.”
The drama series, produced by Stained Glass TV, debuted small screen in 2020. Despite starting high, the drama series was canned after its viewership dropped. According to unconfirmed reports, its viewership dropped, leaving the channel with no option but to axe it.
