Despite the fact that the public and media were barred from attending AKA’s private funeral service, real name Kiernan Forbes, pictures and clips from the somber occasion made their way onto social media…
On Saturday, February 18, the rapper was laid to rest, just over a week after he was gunned down outside a Florida Road hotspot in Durban.
AKA’S FRIENDS AND FAMILY SAY FINAL GOODBYE
AKA’s family said their final goodbyes as his coffin was lowered into the ground in scenes from Johannesburg’s West Park Cemetry.
According to SABC, the 35-year-old is buried alongside celebrities such as Hugh Masekela and Joe Mafela at Heroes Acre.
The rapper’s nearest and dearest attended the intimate ceremony. They included his parents, Lynn and Tony Forbes, brother Steffan Forbes, girlfriend Nadia Nadia, and only child Kairo Forbes.
