‘Go Shine Your Light’ — Tweeps Show Mpilwenhle Love As She Exits ‘Idols SA’

Mpilwenhle Mokopu, a season 18 Idols SA participant, was eliminated on Sunday, and fans are shocked that the brilliant vocalist is no longer in the competition.

People were striving for her to be number one on Twitter, showering her with love and encouragement, and most believe this is not the end of the road for the artist.

Mpilwenhle Mokopu was eliminated from 'Idols SA' season 18 on Sunday night.

“The way Mpilo was so stress-free about her eviction, she literally knows her future is already secure. A banger single, JR ready to sign her and I’m sure a lot more waiting for her,” tweeted one.

“This is Mpilo. She has a smooth voice. She is talented. A beautiful melody of a person. I can’t wait to see more of her. Mpilwenhle is her name. Show her some love, ” said one tweep.

Before being eliminated Mpilo performed her funky, amapiano-inspired love jam Ngiyazifela, which producer Oskido described as “something different and fresh”.

All three judges were impressed, with Thembi Seete saying: “We all know you can sing, but what blew me away was the choreography, attitude and confidence on stage. You are on another level. What a beautiful song.”

CeeJay, Kabelo, Lerato, Noxolo, Tesmin-Robyn, Ty Loner, and Zee, the previously evicted top seven contestants, performed the Q-Mark, TpZee, Afriikan Papi, and Cloud9ne song Paris. Ndoni, a Season 16 top 5 competitor, also performed Angfuni Omunye.

The top two sang for the last time for public votes, first with Thapelo’s rendition of Hugh Masekela’s Thanayi, before he later delivered his song of the season, The Beatles’ Let It Be.

Nozi sang Mango Groove’s Moments Away before moving on to Jennifer Hudson’s Giving Myself, her season’s song.
