DJ Sbu, a South African musician, has given his fans a lot of career advice over the years and has now opened up about the perils that come with success. During an interview on the Virtual Makhuku podcast, the singer and businessman revealed how he almost fell victim to a phony pregnancy fraud.
According to Sbu, this is just one of many factors that might lead to a celebrity’s demise.
The life of a celebrity isn’t as glamorous as it appears, and DJ Sbu wants everyone to know that.
During one of many podcast appearances, the Remember When It Rained hitmaker described how celebrities are easy prey for scammers.
According to him, he nearly fell victim to a woman he had a one-night stand with after she lied about being pregnant after they slept together.
All of this allegedly happened while Sbu was still a radio host at YFM years ago, reports a Briefly News article.
The musician also revealed that the woman and her mother actually targeted him before carrying out their plan.
Sbu also added that the woman behind the scam claimed to have been struggling financially.
“She confessed that they are struggling at home, and her mother got her into this. They targeted me that she would come and create a story and threaten me with Shwashwi so that I would give her money”
That’s one of the examples of what we have to deal with,” said the Hustler’s Corner podcast host.
