Maritjie Bothma, nickname Intombi Yomzulu, a South African radio presenter and TV personality, died on Monday, May 29, following a brief illness.

On Tuesday, 30 May, Zimoja reported that the radio station Sauma HD Radio, where Maritjie Bothma worked, announced her death in a statement.

“It is with sadness to announce that one of our radio family presenters, Marietjie Bothma passed on today 29 May 2023. Lala ngoxolo Sisi Marietjie Bothma. Good night.”

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela also announced on Tuesday on Twitter that the actress and comedienne passed away at 39 years,

South Africans went to social media to pay respect to Maritjie Bothma, an actress, comedienne, and radio personality best known for her roles in Diep City and her King Pie commercial. Bothma, also known as Intombi Yomzulu, was fluent in more than five South African languages.
