MAMPINTSHA RECEIVES A SWEET NOTE FROM BABES WODUMO
Mandla Maphumulo, also known as Mampintsha, died of a stroke on Christmas Eve at the age of 40 at Durdoc Hospital in Kwazulu-Natal. Babes Wodumo has since left fans perplexed about how she mourned the late Kwaito star.
The public was left scratching their heads when she danced at Mampintsha’s memorial service and then later hacked his cellphone. Her mother-in-law Zamanguni Gumede who was still alive at the time, was also not impressed with her Wololo hitmaker daughter-in-law when she quickly went back to performing after laying Mampintsha to rest.
Gumede passed away on 15 January, soon after her son’s death. A video of Babes Wodumo crying during a performance was circulated on social media and had fans sympathising with the Gqom star.

It has been almost two months since Mampintsha was laid to rest. Babes Wodumo shared that she had gone to visit her late husband’s grave and penned a heartfelt note to him, saying,
“Wow. After sooo many years, this is the first Valentine’s Day without you sthandwa sam [my love]…Today women out there are celebrating with loved ones, but, however, me being here today makes it different from others… I forever cherish [the] days we shared together…Ngyazi ujabulile ukubungbona [I know that you are happy to see me] today nginawe sdudla sam [I am with you my chubs], Sdikselwa, Stakataka, Baba ka [father to] Sponge.
According to IOL, the then 28-year-old Kwaito star reportedly started dating Babes Wodumo when she was 16. During their 12-year relationship, the couple reportedly had many ups and downs, including abuse allegations.
They later had a traditional wedding ceremony in 2021 and then had their first and only child, Sponge, later that year.
