Somizi Mhlongo appears to have ruffled AKA’s feathers after the rapper’s performance on Sunday night’s finale of Idols SA season 18.
The season 18 finale of Idols SA concluded with a bang on Sunday night, with Thapelo Molomo emerging victorious. This was one of the most contentious seasons of the show’s history. The season’s runner-up was Nozi Sibiya.
AKA lit up the stage with a medley of songs, including his smash hit All Eyes on Me, alongside JR Bogopa, and Somizi had a few things to say about it.
The Idols SA judge did not mince his words when he said “I have seen better.” Shortly after saying that, AKA gave him a death stare and clearly his commentary did not sit well with the rapper.

Tweeps weighed on this and accused Somizi of inheriting Cassper and AKA’s beef.
@theSA_brand commented: āSomizi is Cassperās friend, but AKA had to keep calm and not take it that seriously #IdolsSAā
@LizaNjee commented: āWasnāt Somizi involved in AKAs drama back then? Did they ever fix it?ā
@DQFab_ZA commented “He always inherit beefs. Trust me.”
In 2020, Somizi defended AKA following the backlash he received from the LGBTQI+ community after calling Cassper Nyovest a m**fie.
Somizi accepted AKA’s apology and said everyone make mistakes. “Iād like to apologize to anybody offended by my use of the word āMoffieā in a previous tweet. At some point, i thought it wasnāt a big deal to use this word. I understand now that itās not acceptable,” tweeted Somizi.

At some point, i thought it wasnāt a big deal to use this word. I understand now that itās not acceptable.”
