The free tickets to AKA’s memorial service at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday, February 17th, have been fully allocated after being booked up in just three hours by fans.
On Tuesday, 14 February, tickets to the public service were made available through the booking service Webtickets.
However, the South African rapper’s family, real name Kiernan Forbes, is warning the public not to fall for a potential scam in which individuals advertise their tickets to desperate fans.
On Wednesday, a day after holding a press briefing, the Forbes family revealed that the tickets to the memorial service had been fully booked.
It posted in a statement: “All tickets have been fully subscribed, and no more tickets will be allocated or issued.”
The family also warned the public not to fall for potential scams of those selling or advertising tickets. Additionally, AKA’s family shot down claims they monetised the event.
The statement continued: “Its important to note that no tickets were sold. [We] encourage you not to send money to anyone selling tickets.”

The Forbes family also used the statement to encourage those without tickets not to attend the event and compromise the safety of others.
“Absolutely no tickets will be issued at the door,” it concluded.
Fans of AKA who did not receive tickets can still stream the memorial service online.
But judging by the comments section, many fans of the rapper did not heed the advice of the family.
@Buthelezi1785: “Maybe you can allow people to come even if it means sitting outside the venue? I’m sure people won’t mind that. They just want to be there.”
@MrQuarantines: “I’m going there on Friday to stand outside and cry.”
@docta_vee: “I’m willing to buy a ticket from anyone selling. I have to pay my respects to the Super Mega.”
@Nozizwebaby: “I can’t believe he is gone. Willing to purchase a ticket.”
