On Sunday, 2 April, fan favorite housemate Khosi Twala was voted the R1.7 million winner of the first season of Big Brother Titans.
Khosi Twala, one of the Big Brother Titans edition’s 20 housemates from South Africa and Nigeria, won the title and a $100,000 cash prize (R1.7 million).
When Twala announced the winner on Sunday night, she thanked her fans and family for voting for her.
“I want to say thank you to everyone who voted for me. I honestly don’t know why you guys voted for me, but I guess I’ll find out soon,” said Twala after being announced the winner.
Nomsa Philiso, Executive Head of Programming, M-Net Channels told News24 in a statement:
“Big Brother Titans has been an enormous success. We are delighted to have seen the housemates’ journey to the finale, and we would like to congratulate all the housemates for giving viewers their best over the past few weeks.”
“We are immensely proud to have brought Africa together for this incredible show. As has been the case with previous participants of this most loved show, we hope this competition will once again be a platform for the winner, Khosi, and her fellow housemates to gain access to greater opportunities and even go on to launching careers in their own spaces. We hope to bring even more exciting experiences like Big Brother Titans to our viewers in the future.”
The journalist Khosi Twala has announced the winner after staying in the Big Brother Titans reality show for 72 days and competing against 24 contestants from Nigeria and South Africa.
Thwala beat her co-housemates Ipeleng, Ebubu, Kanaga Jnr, Yvonne, and Tsatsii, who were in the finale to win the coveted $100,000 cash prize.
Ipeleng was the first housemate to be evicted followed by Ebubu and Yvonne in the finale.
Limpopo’s Tatsii became the fourth housemate to evicted in the finale night, followed byNigeria’s Kanaga Jnr, who came second in the competition.
