There is something special about music that carries the energy of a city, and AQUTIE brings exactly that feeling with Coolest In The City. Released in 2024 through Noir Fever Records, the EP is a lively dance music project inspired by New York City’s nightlife and club culture. It also reflects AQUTIE’s African roots, giving the release a personal touch beyond the dancefloor.
AQUTIE
AQUTIE is a DJ and producer born in Harlem, New York, with roots in South Africa and Guinea. She is known for exploring different sounds and bringing influences from across the African diaspora into her music. Her approach is about experimenting, blending cultures and creating something that feels fresh rather than sticking to one particular style.
Coolest In The City
Coolest In The City originally arrived with two tracks, “Big Bag Bounce” featuring Paulina Singer and “Crowd Control”. Both songs capture the energetic spirit of the project, with AQUTIE drawing inspiration from New York’s house music culture while incorporating sounds connected to her African background.
What makes this EP interesting is the way it connects different musical influences without losing its identity. It feels like a celebration of culture, creativity and the freedom to experiment with sound.
Conclusion
With Coolest In The City, AQUTIE offers more than just music for the club. She gives listeners a glimpse into her background, influences and connection to New York. It is a refreshing release worth exploring, especially for anyone who enjoys discovering fresh voices in electronic and dance music.
