Mzansi Gets Emotional Over AKA’s Funeral – ‘Will We Ever Get Justice?’

Twitter users are in mourning after rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known as AKA, was laid to rest on Saturday, February 18.

On February 10, the 35-year-old was shot dead outside Wish restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. After a public memorial at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday this week, the rapper was laid to rest in a private ceremony.

The tragic death of rapper AKA has saddened millions of people. The actor and his longtime friend Tebello “Tibz” were killed outside Wish on Florida Road last week and will be laid to rest today.\

Footage of his body leaving his home has been widely circulated online and has left his many fans truly heartbroken. Videos of a convoy making its way from the rapper’s Bryanston home to his final resting place have left locals teary-eyed as they say their final goodbyes.

Clips shared on the Newzroom Afrika social media sites show the all-black BMW convoy — a final tribute to the BMW car fanatic — leaving his home while encumbering his black casket.
