DJ Zinhle, an award-winning musician, revealed on her Instagram Story that she has been holding her daughter Kairo Forbes’ hand since the death of her father, rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, on February 10th.
DJ Zinhle, the Umlilo hitmaker, broke her silence following the murders of Kairo Forbes’ father, Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, and his former manager.
“I am holding Kairo’s hand throughout, thank you for your messages,” she wrote. Please don’t stop praying for my child. ” God bless you.”
The award-winning rapper AKA was killed in Durban with his former manager Tebello Motsoane on Friday, 10 February night at Wish restaurant in Florida in Durban.
On Wednesday, February 16, Forbes’ parents, brother, and girlfriend Nadia Nakai attended Motsoane’s memorial service.
His father Tony Forbes told the media that the chef was a true friend who was there for his son from the “beginning until the end”.
The DJ Zinhle has been sharing several photos and videos of the rapper AKA and their daughter Kairo Forbes on Instagram since he passed away.
A memorial for Forbes will be held at Sandton Convention Centre on Friday in Johannesburg and starts at 3 pm. A limited number of tickets were made available on WebTickets. However, three hours thereafter the ‘sold out’ signs went up, such was the demand from the public to attend.
The 35-year-old rapper was due to perform at a Durban nightclub, Yugo, as part of his birthday celebrations on the night when he was gunned down.
The two men will be laid to rest in private ceremonies on Saturday, 18 February 2023.
