The relationship between Ntate Kganyago and Jacobeth has been quite interesting. Kganyago first entered the fold as an innocent South African man seeking help at Turfloop hospital.
Kganyago pretended to be a professor at a Norwegian university, or at least that is what he led people to believe.
After warning her about a scammer who almost became her love interest, he began dating Elizabeth Thobakgale, Jacobie’s daughter and a doctor at Turf Hospital.
As a thank you, Lizzy invited Kganyago over for dinner. As soon as he saw her mother, it was love at first sight.
As Skeem Saam fans, we were all relieved to see Jacobie finally find love. Kganyago appeared to want to make her the happiest woman on the planet.
However, as we got to know him better, those first impressions began to fade. Kganyago insisted on saying this after moving into their home and making Elizabeeth uncomfortable.
Worse, he has coerced Jacobie into abandoning her only daughter Lizzy.
Kganyago has also been pressuring the former Turf High principal turned Sepdi teacher to retire early, despite the fact that she only has a year left and risks losing all of her benefits.
Skeem Saam viewers have concluded that Kganyago is not who he claims to be. He is desperate for money, as evidenced by his determination to force Jacobie to retire early.
He also does not appear to be the renowned professor he claims to be. When professor Maputla attempted to contact Kganyago’s references, all of the phone numbers were disconnected. They turned out to be non-existent, and everything was a hoax.
In a recent Skeem Saam episode, he got down on one knee and asked Jacobeth for her hand in marriage, and she said yes. Viewers are concerned that he will defraud her of all her life savings, and that the proposal is merely a ruse to persuade her to retire.
